Amy Ward has been tattooing professionally since 1999, after undergoing a formal tattoo apprenticeship at Shades of Gray Tattoo in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In 2001 she started A-ok Tattoo, where she specializes in custom Body Art - drawing the attention of tattoo collectors. A-ok Tattoo has been located in Roswell, NM since 2003. In 2004, she added 2 Ravens Art Gallery to the shop showcasing the fine art produced by the shop artists. Amy is currently a licensed Tattoo artist in NM as well as WI.
In 2017, Amy was nominated by the New Mexico Governor to serve on the NM Body Art Board representing Establishments, where she served on the Rules committee, Licensing, and as a Hearing Officer. Amy is currently on the AFDO Body Art Committee and is leading the FDA Regulation & Guidance working group. She is a member of Alliance of Professional Tattooists, and a member of the NEHA Body Art Committee. She commits herself to be a profession specific representative voice for the Tattoo Industry.
Amy attended college at both Portland State University (PSU) and the University of WI Oshkosh (UWO) from 1998-2001, studying towards a BFA with an emphasis in Ceramic Sculpture. Passionate about Tattooing as her primary art form, other mediums Amy works in are oil painting, hand-blown glass, metalwork, & clay. She produces at Bone Springs Art Space locally
Currently Amy holds the position of Farm Safety Manager at Fertile Ground Farm in Roswell NM, a USDA GAP certified farm operation. Since 2020, she has completed AFDO-PSA Grower Training Course by the Product Safety Alliance as well as NMFMA-Tier 1 and Tier 2 training.
