Carrie is a graduate of Lake Superior State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. From there she went on to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to earn her Masters in Environmental and Public Health. She started her career with a small agency as an EH professional in the Northeast part of the state from there she took a job with the Department of Health Services conducting inspections. Carrie is now a Food Scientist, Advanced with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer protection. Carrie is involved with the Conference for Food Protection, she’s currently the Midwest Regulatory Rep and is the current Chair of the Program Standards Committee. She is the co-chair for the AFDO Food Safety Educational Resource Collection Committee and participates in the Advanced Inspector Bootcamp as well as a mentor for the Special Processes Mentorship forum. She teaches FD312 Special Processes, FD112 Food Code and FD207 Plan Review courses. She became a past Wisconsin Environmental Health Association President in 2023 and is a self-proclaimed “Food Safety Geek”.
