Thuy Vu Consulting

Thuy Vu is the Founder and CEO of Thuy Vu Consulting (TVCO), where she provides expert compliance, training, auditing, gap analysis, and scientific technical assistance across a range of regulated sectors, including human food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, animal feed, cannabis, hemp, psilocybin, kava, and kratom. Her work spans food safety, cGMP, HACCP, QMS, FSMS, EMS, laboratory standards, organic and kosher certification, occupational health, and fire and life safety.

From 2010 to 2015, Thuy served as the lead foodborne illness, outbreak, and cannabis investigator at the Denver Department of Public Health & Environment, where she became the first cannabis public health specialist in Colorado and the nation. She established groundbreaking regulatory precedent by applying food safety protocols to marijuana processing, issuing the first five cannabis product recalls, and leading the first foodborne illness investigation of a marijuana operation.

Her collaboration with the Denver Fire Marijuana Fire Prevention Team was instrumental in identifying health hazards associated with pesticide-contaminated cannabis—specifically myclobutanil (Eagle 20) and abamectin—which resulted in the mass embargo and destruction of adulterated cannabis products. She also helped identify process-specific hazards for cannabis extraction facilities, which helped the Denver Fire Department set the model for cannabis fire safety codes nationwide.

In 2015, Thuy played a key role in launching Leafs By Snoop, the first celebrity cannabis product line. She later served on the Executive Committee of Colorado’s CHAMP Initiative, helping to draft the state’s hemp management plan. Today, Thuy serves as the Co-Chair for AFDO's Cannabis Committee, is a WAFDO Board Member, and Chair of the Rocky Mountain Food Safety Committee. Thuy continues to advise regulatory agencies, laboratories, and industry stakeholders nationwide—bridging science, compliance, and policy in emerging markets.
