Thomas (Tommy) Saunders is the Southeast Regional Extension Associate for the Produce Safety Alliance, Cornell Agritech. He received both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Food Science and Technology from Virginia Tech. Tommy started his career with Virginia Tech, working with fresh produce growers, helping them meet requirements to comply with FSMA Produce Safety Rule. Tommy joined the PSA in 2020, where his role helps with providing training courses on the FSMA Produce Safety Rule, providing technical assistance to growers and produce safety educators, and developing resources.
