I grew up in a small family farm environment before earning degrees in Agricultural Business Horticulture and Commercial Economics. I joined the CO Dept of Agriculture in 2014 after a three decade long career in the private sector in product development and international business relationships including the highly regulated GMO industry. My career at the state has included developing, overseeing and managing a variety of programs as a Program Manager, Assistant Division and Division Director before stepping in to manage the Produce Safety Program in 2019.
I currently serve on the Transition Board for Produce Standards, as a committee member on the Reagan-Udall foundation for the FDA, and as Co-Chair of AFDO’s Produce Safety Committee.
