Angela Montalbano
Angela is the Assistant Director for the division of Food Safety and Inspection for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. She began her career with the NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets, Food Safety and Inspection in 1990. Angela began working in Brooklyn as a Food Inspector and was promoted to several positions within the division. Throughout her career she has received numerous recognition awards from the department and nationally recognized food safety associations, including AFDO.
Angela has been an AFDO member for over 25 years.
Angela is currently the president of the Association of Food and Drug Officials, the 2024 past president of the New York State Association for Food Protection and the past president of the NY CASA (Central Atlantic States Association) Conference.
Angela participates on national food safety and training workgroups, including the National Curriculum Standards development, Partnership for Food Protection and the Regulatory Lab Training System.
Angela completed the one-year International Food Protection Training Institute Fellowship in Leadership, Cohort 1 in 2010-2011.
