Kristen Machicek, REHS - Professional Biography
Kristen Machicek brings almost three decades of expertise to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance industry, with comprehensive experience spanning food processing, distribution, and foodservice sectors. Currently serving as Food Safety & QA Manager for Pappas Restaurants, she has dedicated the past 20 years to developing and strengthening the company's Food Safety Sanitation standards program.
In her leadership role, Kristen oversees the establishment and implementation of critical food safety SOPs and best practices across all restaurant locations. Her responsibilities include conducting audits and approving vendors that supply food to the restaurants, while maintaining strategic partnerships with state, county, and city health officials to ensure the daily delivery of safe food in clean environments.
Kristen earned her degree in Food Science & Technology from Texas A&M University, establishing a strong foundation for her career in food safety. She has further distinguished herself through specialized certifications, including: REHS (Registered Environmental Health Specialist) credential and Seafood HACCP certification. As an active member of the professional food safety community, Kristen participates in several key organizations: TEHA, GEHA, and NEHA. She has been part of the Conference for Food Protection and the NRA Quality Assurance Executive Study Group and the FDA Restaurant Food Safety Partnership. Through her extensive experience, advanced credentials, and active industry involvement, Kristen continues to advance food safety standards and practices in the restaurant industry.
